zombie

I think I’ve gone into zombie mode again. For you who had watched Warm Bodies (2013), imagine me as “R”, the main zombie in this movie. My mind is filled with many thought, of what I want to do, what I need to do, but my body is doing routinity. So, this is me trying to break from the zombie in me. Trying to do what I had in mind, writing in this blog again. I won’t write much right now, but I will keep my appearances.

reverse karma

You already know the regular karma. When you do something bad, then that something bad will also happen to you. But this reverse karma is not the same, it works differently. When someone do something bad to you, someday you’ll do that bad thing to the other.

This is an example of reverse karma. I used to have a girlfriend, but she cheated on me, and then we broke up. Several years later i had another girlfriend, and i cheated on her. Of course we also broke up.

It’s not a vengeance. It’s not that i want to get even, because i did it unintentionally. That’s the different between regular karma¬† and reverse karma.¬†Either way, karma is a bitch. It’s fun, but still, it’s a bitch.

it’s robin or it’s me

It’s one of How I Met Your Mother episode, season 8 chapter 5 “The Autumn of Break Ups”. For those who have not watch it, be wary of the spoiler.

~~~
When Ted propose to Victoria, she asked a condition. Ted can’t be friends with Robin anymore, in other words, it’s Robin or it’s Victoria. It’s a tough choice for Ted, seeing how they’ve been friends for years. Ted knows that Robin would never be in love with him, would never be his wife, and would never be the person he grows old with, but Ted can’t imagine life without Robin. While Victoria could be everything above. It’s suck, but that’s how life is. Ted had to choose.
I almost encounter the same problem. One day, when i was getting close to a girl, she said to me, “If i were your girlfriend, you’re not allowed to play with your female friends anymore.” I just smiled back then. It’s a tough choice for me. I had to choose between many girls or one special girl. Lucky it didn’t come to that, because shortly after that, she became someone else girlfriend.
Before, blinded by how i’m in love, i would’ve choose her over my female friends. But now that i think about it, it’s a shame to broke a friendship over a lover (not that i never done that, but we’ll come to that later). If she can’t accept the fact that i have many female friends, then she’s not meant to be my girlfriend.
For future reference, i want to have a girlfriend that still let me going out with my other female friends, without unnecessary jealousy. Of course, i will let my girlfriend to go out with her male friends. This way, we know what it feels to walk in each other shoes, and able to keep the balance of our relationship.
Goodbye Lullaby
Listening to Avril’s Goodbye Lullaby makes me think back. About what I’ve done in the past, what the hell I’m doing in the present, and what I want for my future.
ingin sehat? gunakan tangga
Stiker tersebut terpasang di elevator di gedung elektro di kampus saya. Sebuah anjuran untuk menggunakan tangga daripada elevator agar lebih sehat. Secara arsitektur, bangunan ini memiliki 5 lantai, dari basement sampai ke lantai 4. Tangga pun terletak tepat di depan elevator ini, tidak seperti mall-mall yang lokasi eskalator dan elevatornya (biasanya) berjauhan. Elevator ini biasanya hanya mampu menampung 4-5 orang saja. Karenya minimnya kapasitas, sedangkan orang-orang yang ingin menggunakan elevator banyak, maka ada aturan tidak tertulis, seperti:
  1. Sebaiknya gunakan tangga jika hanya naik 1 lantai.
  2. Sebaiknya gunakan tangga untuk turun.
Jadi, seperti yang dianjurkan oleh stiker itu, gunakan tangga jika ingin sehat. Oh ya, ada hal menarik yang ingin saya bahas di sini. Tentang persepsi menerjemahkan anjuran ini. Saya melihat ada 3 kemungkinan orang menerjemahkan anjuran ini.
Pertama, versi orang biasa. Orang biasa akan mengikuti anjuran ini dengan cara menggunakan tangga dalam keadaan apapun, bahkan untuk naik dari basement sampai ke lantai 4. Kedua, versi orang teliti. Orang yang teliti akan melihat, bahwa pada gambar tersebut, orang itu sedang menuruni tangga, jadi orang yang teliti akan menggunakan tangga ketika turun saja. Ketiga, versi orang gila. Nah, untuk orang yang ini, dia akan melihat bahwa agar sehat, maka seseorang harus menggunakan tangga untuk naik, dan berjalan mundur. Haha.
layakkah kamu menyandang agamamu?
Menyandang nama ITB itu berat. Rasanya setiap orang mengharap sesuatu yang lebih dari anak ITB. Saya memang belum lulus, tapi rasanya menyandang gelar Sarjana Teknik, lulusan Teknik Elektro juga bukan hal yang mudah. Sebagai anak elektro sudah sepantasnya kan kita mengerti tentang keelektronikaan.
Sekarang bandingkan dengan titel kita yang lain, yang mayoritas sudah dimiliki sejak lahir, agama. Pantaskah kita mengaku kita beragama ‘ini’? Bagaimana jika seseorang bertanya sesuatu tentang agama kita, dan kita tidak bisa memberi jawabannya. Masih lebih baik kalau kita hanya tertunduk, malu, tidak bisa menjawab, dibanding kita menjawab asal, lalu menyesatkan si penanya.
Mau tidak mau, kita punya tanggung jawab untuk mempelajari agama kita. Kalau tidak mau, lebih baik lepas saja titel itu dari kita.
